He is an Indian Professional Kabaddi player and was a member of Indian National Kabaddi Team that won a Gold Medal in South Asian Games 2016. He was born in Bijnor, UP on 16th June 1993. He started playing kabaddi at the age of 13, but he had to face many difficulties as he was overweight. His obesity due to the consumption of unhealthy food was so severe that his parents had to take him to the doctor. Since then, special attention was paid towards his fitness. The protein intake in his diet was increased considerably. Soon he developed an interest in fitness and sports and he started playing kabaddi in school. However, his parents could not recognize his passion for the game and they often tried to stop him and asked him to focus on his studies.

Rahul secretly attended a kabaddi trial organized by Sports Authority of India (SAI) in 2007. He soon left for the training camp in Gandhinagar, Gujarat despite the opposition from the family. Soon, Indian Army offered a role to the young lad but Rahul rejected the offer to work on his game a bit more. However, another opportunity knocked the door from Air India this time. Rahul grabbed the chance and the rest is history.
